THINGS ON THE LINE
Twisted human anatomy, transit behavior turned biological, and equipment powerful enough to create a second emergency.
Announcement study / Many passengers. One body. One synchronized step.
The line does not hide all of its monsters. It exposes them under hard fluorescent light and lets the crew understand exactly how wrong the anatomy has become.
Every threat is built around a rule, a silhouette, and a piece of transit behavior. The goal is not a firing range of different health bars. It is a bestiary of problems the crew can recognize one second before recognition becomes useful.

Rules Wearing Flesh
The Conductor checks tickets, marked barriers, running, and trespass. The Platform Lurker turns the safety strip into anatomy. The Crowd reorganizes when announcements play or nobody watches. Tunnel Dogs follow gunfire, radio chatter, and electrical machinery. The Passenger boards unnoticed and must be identified before the next stop.
The Left Behind are the most personal: distorted copies of people abandoned during earlier runs, repeating fragments of communication and imitating movement the crew remembers. They are not the person the crew came to find—and the difference must remain emotionally legible.

Power Changes the Rules
The best rewards do more than increase damage. They create a new strategy and a new problem, forcing the party to decide whether capability is worth the pressure it adds elsewhere.
- 01Schedule Zero
Freezes enemies along its firing line. Every shot drains the train's power.
- 02Tunnel Borer
Shreds bosses and breaches selected walls. Every shot broadcasts the wielder's location.
- 03The Last Bell
Destroys ordinary threats over a wide area. Ringing it extinguishes nearby lights and calls something worse.
- 04The Black Ticket
Lets its carrier board once after departure. An unknown Passenger boards with them.
Starting factions
Three Explanations. No Answer.
The Civic Rail Authority believes schedules, procedure, and controlled infrastructure are humanity's only protection. Redline Reclamation believes anything can be made useful with enough steel, fuel, and force. The Choir of the Final Platform believes the subway is alive and carries passengers between realities.
Their equipment can be mixed freely. Their versions of the world cannot. The Authority calls the line an evacuation network. Redline believes the surface can be reclaimed. The Choir insists the surface never existed. Every station contains evidence that contradicts all three.
Line condition
The underground is frightening because its rules can be learned—and because knowing a rule never guarantees enough time to obey it.
